Details of my 19 times great grandfather, Sir Richard de Pyvelesdon, of Pyvelesdon

My 19 times great grandfather, Sir Richard de Pyvelesdon was born about 1180 at Pyvelesdon (now called Puleston), near Newport, Shropshire. He was the son of Sir Roger de Pyvelesdon.

Between 1225 and 1241, Richard witnessed 2 Wombridge charters. One was a grant from Alienore, daughter of Roger Mussun, to the Canons of Wombridge Priory of an acre of land at Uppington. The other was a grant from Richard de Brugg and Sybilla, his wife, to the Canons of 2 Seilions of land in the field of Uppington (Wombridge Charters, tit. Upinton, numbers c vi and cc iii, and volume ii page 226 and 230). See pages 166 and 168 of Volume 8 of Eyton's Antiquities of Shropshire.

He had a son, my 18 times great grandfather, Roger de Pyvelesdon.
